I had a chance to check out the MegaMeet in Novi a couple weeks ago. It was pretty fun - they offered lots of 'classes' teaching technique, displaying new product etc. My favorite class was probably the chipboard family album. It was a quick project, the instructor had all the chipboard and paper precut so we just had to glue - sand - ink. I almost got mine finished within the class time, but wanted to mod-podge the pictures down before adding embellishments, so I had to bring it home for a little more finish work.

The shopping was a little lack-luster. I would have expected better pricing since there were so many vendors selling direct (S.E.I., Xyron, Martha Stewart Crafts, etc) but they were selling at retail prices right alongside the scrap stores.

I finished a half dozen pages and made another half dozen cards at the crop that night. Now, if I could just get some pictures printed...

Zoo Pages - 5 photos

We had a fabulous time at Binder Park Zoo last summer. The giraffes were definitely the highlight of our visit. This cute little giraffe is from the Create A Critter Cricut cart. Have I mentioned that I love that cartridge!?!

Cut list:
(2) 12" orange backgrounds
Black frames:
(2) 3.5 x 5.75"
(2) 4.25 x 5.75"
(1) 4.75 x 3.5"
(1) 4.25 x 10.5" (behind giraffe)
white paper (2) 8.5 x 11"
Blue pattern 11.25 x 3"
blue pattern 5 x 3"
giraffe cut at 9.5"

The letters in this layout are about 2" tall and there a couple brads added for texture. Ink the edges of all the paper with black ink to coordinate with the frames and the letters. For the white that runs behind the giraffe - after the piece was inked, I cut off a small strip of white and moved it under the right side of the giraffe.
